Hooks Barn- a self catering holiday home
on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean
Hooks Barn is situated on the very edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, about 4 miles from the historic market town of Ross On Wye. It is idealy situated to make use of the many tourist attractions and facilities available in this picturesque area.
The Wye Valley is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, and has been a tourist destination since the 1800's.
We are in easy reach of places such as Symonds Yat, with its splendid paroramic views of the Wye, the Forest of Dean, with many walks and bike trails. There are historic castles and country homes to explore and wonderful local cuisine to sample. Then of course there is the Wye itself, with canoeing and other activities.
Hooks Barn has every home comfort you will need. It is a brilliant base for a weeks holiday or a short break.
Surround Yourself With Nature
Hooks Barn and Cottage has a delightful garden, and is surrounded by fields and country views. You have your own private patio and barbeque area, with panoramic views. So on a sunny day you may just feel like relaxing there, or when coming back from an exciting day out its a great place to enjoy a G&T and watch the sun go down. There are also plenty of forest walks you can do 'straight out of the door' and of course the Wye Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so its easy to surround yourself with nature. |
Before we converted Hooks Barn it had been Joans Pottery Studio for 30
years. Joan still teaches pottery at a local pottery centre - Clayhill Potters.
In the more distant past the barn was a cider mill.
Hooks Barn is attached to the far end of Hooks Cottage,
which is the owners home, so Joan and William are available to help
with any queries you may have.
They realise that your privacy is paramount and so will not be bothering
you unless you request something.
